She was born and raised in the heart of New York City, Harlem. Growing up, she witnessed both the strength and struggles of the people around her. It was here, amidst the backdrop of urban America, that her journey towards creating positive change began.
After moving to Stanly County in 2001, she felt a deep calling to address the pressing needs of her community. Witnessing the hardships faced by individuals and families, particularly children, she realized that there was an urgent need for support systems and resources to empower them. It was after years of wondering what could be done about the hardships and being touched by a particular circumstance involving a child’s disparity that propelled the idea to start Stanly Dreamers. Fueled by a passion for change, she embarked on a mission to transform lives.
In 2021, she founded "Stanly Dreamers", a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational, cultural and mentor support for children in Stanly County. With a small team of dedicated volunteers, she set out to create a network of support that would provide tangible solutions to the challenges faced by our community members.
Her work with Stanly Dreamers is far from over. As we enter a new chapter, she is dedicated to expanding our programs, reaching more children in need, and fostering sustainable change. Together, she will continue to empower children, uplift families, and build a brighter future for Stanly County and beyond.

Our mission is to enrich and empower the lives of young minds through the transformative power of education, mentorship, and exposure to the arts. We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves access to a well-rounded and inspiring education that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth.
Stanly Dreamers was founded in October 2021. The organization was established to address some of the noticeable disparities children within the community are facing. It was obvious that after the pandemic, families were struggling to put the pieces of their everyday life back together. Students suffered from learning gaps and lack of socialization, thus stirring Stanly Dreamers to form and move in a compassionate and progressive spirit to address some of these community needs.
We wholeheartedly believe in what we do. We're committed to serving our community, ensuring the best educational and cultural experience for our children. We will continue to provide a stable and reliable organization that gives back for the betterment of the next generation.
Stanly Dreamers is a non-profit organization that is making things better together, to ensure a bright future for our children. We aim to provide educational, cultural and mentor support. We also create opportunities to assist students with becoming well-rounded and productive young citizens (K-12), with hopes of them taking those developed skills and one day giving back to their community.
Stanly Dreamers is made up of strong intellectual and caring men and women, that love their family and strive each day to be a beacon of light in our community. We are literary doctors, teachers, artist, photographers, entrepreneurs and community activist.
So far, Stanly Dreamers have hosted a back-to-school drive in which we were able to give away nearly 200 book bags filled with school supplies. We hosted a toy drive, where toys were presented to the community youth during our 2nd Annual Christmas event, held at the Old Central School Auditorium. We gave away toys, gift cards, food and shared in song and fellowship. In February 2022, Stanly Dreamers hosted its first Annual Black History Program, honoring some of our local African American trailblazers, in the medical field in Stanly County. Our latest endeavor has been sponsoring 2022 high school seniors, as they transition to higher education and the workforce. Students was provided with gift baskets and a "Big Brother" or " Big Sister" to help them navigate their journey through college or workforce.
